The goal of the Hack to Teach hackathon is to bring the brightest university students and young professionals together to brain storm and develop amazing rapid solution prototypes that will solve the important problem of training teachers in rural Kenya.
At ALL54, hackathons are an integral part of our Hack Local. Think Global.TM culture. We believe in harnessing word-class local tech talent to solve critical business and social problems, while advancing Africa's position as an important contributor to the global economy.

Join us at the IBM Innovation Centre in Nairobi on January 25-27, as we learn, hack and have some fun!
Start brainstorming ideas & forming teams* (of up to 5 people).
We'll supply the food, fun diversions, prizes, and some expert guidance from of top IT and education professionals.
All you need is to bring your laptop, appetite, skills and bright deas!
Eligibility
- Participants (Hackers): Individuals (over 18 years in age); Teams (up to 5 people). Participants should be an enrolled university student in Kenya to attend this event OR a young professional with no more than two years of post-graduate experience.
- Countries: Kenya
Note: Mentors from countries outside Kenya are welcome to partipate remotely.
Requirements
Hackers will have two days to develop a rapid prototype of a mobile-based teacher training app.
Prizes
Paid gig to build and deliver mobile training platform for rural Kenya teachers. (Cash value TBA)
